Shout-Outs and Accolades!

We’re not not normally in the habit of pimping ourselves but I thought it was cool that we: 1) got a shout-out on the weddingbells.ca website (Thanks Rosie!) and 2) we placed 13th in the quarterly WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) in the cake cutting category.

Baby Love: Wilbur and Carole’s Family Shoot

Our dear friends Wilbur and Carole will be leaving Montreal before the end of this month with their darling baby girl Valerie for sunny California. We’ve known them for quite some time now – in fact Wilbur and Carole met for the very time at my backyard birthday party quite a few years ago! We’ve seen them through many different life changes and so it was our privilege to document them together as a family. We had Wilbur’s father come out for the shoot too to get some pictures with his first grandchild before she moves to the other side of the continent with her parents.

Tim and I are becoming big believers in the family portrait. Not the Sears type, mind you – but a portrait that draws you back to a time in your life, that captures the simple love a family has for one another, the puts into tangible reality the ties that bind. We love the documentary aspect and the creative energy of photographing weddings and more and more we hope to pour out our passion into creating telling portraits.
